How to apply

Thank you for your interest in SUROC!

SUROC will not be held during Summer 2026 due to a delay in funding.
Please keep us in mind for Summer 2027!

Before you apply, you will need to:

• Obtain your transcript in an electronic format. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Please name the file LastName_FirstInitial_Transcript.
  Accepted formats: .doc, .docx, .pdf
• Write a brief statement of interest (<500 words) in order to help us learn more about you. Describe your interest in participating in the UNC SUROC, your previous research experiences (if any, not required), and what you see yourself doing in five years. Please name the file LastName_FirstInitial_Statement.
  Accepted formats: .doc, .docx, .pdf

After you apply:

• We will send a recommendation request to each recommenders you listed in your application. Please confirm that they receive the request and ask them to send their letters to suroc@unc.edu with your name FirstName_LastName in the subject line.
